We cut this morning our first white grapes.
After a hot summer, wich was also one of the driest of the past 50 years, the rains of the last three days were expected to give the starting signal ot the harvest 2010. These 16 mm fell gently finally brought a little freshness and humidity in our soils that had only received 18 mm of rain in July and 17 mm in August. The rain helped to give a much better balance to the juice before overly alcoholic.
We therefore made this morning a first pick in the Sauvignon the most matured. The two next weeks will be the most important weeks in the vineyard of Pessac-Léognan.
The juice reaches 13,5° with fine acidity and thus PH guaranteeing the freshness of the wine potential.
We also started the harvest at Domaine de de la Solitude and Château Lespault.
